Nothing could have prepared us for the Sibillini and its huge variety of roads. gradients and hairpins. While not quite the Alps it has so much to offer,
without the traffic and real rural cuisine! The reassurance of having local assistance (if necessary) and knowledge was extremely useful.

How has this part of Italy remained so “unknown” to us riders? We took advantage of the local owners offer to take and collect us and rode the Adriatic coast road from Porto St Giorgio to the Conero. A challenging balance of flat, fast riding and then steep ascents into the Monte Conero (a route that formed part of the 2004 Giro d’Italia). Accommodation in the village of Sant Angelo was outstanding and pleasant evenings outside Roberta’s Bar well remembered!
